Victory to mighty Rāma, and to Lakṣmaṇa of immense strength. Victory to King Sugrīva, who is protected by Rāghava. I am the servant of the Lord of Kosala, Rāma, whose actions are flawless and unwearied. I am Hanumān, the son of the Wind, the destroyer of enemy armies. Not even a thousand Rāvaṇas could stand against me in battle, as I strike with rocks and with trees by the thousands. Having shattered the city of Laṅkā, and having bowed to Maithilī (Sītā), I shall return fulfilled, even as all the rākṣasas look on.
